|
Dr. Anil K. Mehrotra, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Dr. Mehrotra is a Professor at, and the Interim Dean of, the Schulich School of Engineering, as well as the Director of the Centre for Environmental Engineering Research and Education (CEERE). Dr. Mehrotra’s research expertise includes the transport and thermophysical properties of crude oils and bitumens, the kinetics and mechanism of solids deposition and fouling, and the remediation of contaminated soils and methane oxidation by biofiltration. Dr. Mehrotra has provided consulting services to a number of industry and government organizations.

Dr. Thomas G. Harding, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Dr. Harding is a Professor, and the Associate Head of Undergraduate Studies, at the Schulich School of Engineering. Dr. Harding joined the School in 2004 after a 28-year career in the petroleum industry. He has varied engineering experience related to heavy oil, conventional oil and gas production operations both domestic and international. His main areas of research interest are in advanced oil recovery, including methods for heavy oil and oil sands extraction and enhanced recovery of conventional oil, and management of produced water associated with oil and gas recovery operations with work emphasizing minimization of fresh water usage for hydrocarbon recovery and beneficial reuse and recycling of produced water. His current work is focused on removal of organic contaminants in produced water from thermal oil recovery operations.
|
Dr. Maen Husein, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Dr. Husein is an Associate Professor, and currently the Associate Head of Graduate Studies, in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering. Dr. Husein’s research focus is on the energy and environment and application of nanotechnology to optimize energy recovery from primary sources while reducing the associated environmental impact. More specifically, Dr. Husein is currently working on in-situ upgrading of heavy oil and the removal of H2S associated with it as well as the removal of organic and ionic contaminants, including heavy metals, from produced water.

Dr. Nader Mahinpey, Ph.D., P.Eng
Dr. Mahinpey is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Engineering. His research activities focus on promoting research programs in the areas of clean energy and green engineering. His expertise and current research interests involve the application of chemical engineering to the energy and environment fields. The focus of his research consists of renewable energy, biofuel and bioenergy, gasification, pyrolysis, biochemical conversion, and reaction engineering. Energy and environment are the two paramount themes in these research activities.
